THE WEEKLY ROUNDUP #5

Hey everyone, welcome back to the blog and this weeks roundup. I’m currently writing this whilst sat in bed watching Ru Pauls Drag Race… it’s my absolute favourite TV show, check it out! Sadly this week I’ve been really ill with the flu so there’s not much for me to share. Monday I returned to London after spending Easter at home in Grimsby, I started feeling a bit poorly Monday night and when I woke up on Tuesday morning I literally felt like I’d been hit by a bus. I had the flu, real flu and it was the worst! Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday I didn’t leave my room. I pretty much just slept the entire time (in between coughing fits and nose blows) surrounded by tissues, hot lemon and flu tablets. So gross! Friday however I did feel slightly better and as I was getting serious cabin fever I managed to drag myself out the house and to Covent Garden. I took my camera and laptop and did some work – the sun was finally out and there was no way I was missing it by being in bed for another day. I headed to Farmstand to get some good grub and then met with my blogger friend Nimi to shoot some content for Instagram. I was only out for a few hours and I was worn out after but I’m glad I got the fresh air and at least had some human interaction!

I despise being ill, this week I had so many plans and so much I needed to do work wise, not being able to do them sucked but I also think it’s important to allow yourself to get better. I tried to eat and drink really well and listen to what my body needed. Lot’s and lots of hot lemon and ginger and steaming over a bowl of hot water seemed to help. I’m still not 100% but ready to get back to work tomorrow.

Yesterday Lee, Holly and I got together, our other bestie Annabelle was supposed to be coming down but sadly she had to cancel. Us three headed to the Savoy theatre to watch Dreamgirls the musical, If you like the film I’d highly recommend going to see it. The singing and music is great and the ‘And I am Telling You’ moment gives you goosebumps and has the audience going crazy! Afterwards we headed to Byron Burger for dinner – Top Tip – ORDER THE HALLOUMI FRIES!!!! We got them as a starter (along with nachos) and oh my goodness they were insanely good! We then made our way to a bar and chatted for hours and hours. No one makes me laugh as much as my best friends. The three of us were crying with laughter for the majority of the day and it was the perfect medicine for what had been a pretty dull week for me.

So yeah, in all honesty that’s all I got up to. Not much to share but sometimes that’s just how it goes. Tomorrow I plan to go to the gym as I’ve felt like such a sloth this week having done no form of exercise whatsoever! So back to my boxing class tomorrow afternoon and then back to work. I have high hopes that this new week will be much better! I hope you’ve had a more successful week than me and do let me know if you have any cool plans in the pipe line for this week coming. For now though I’m gonna get in a nice long bubble bath, get in my PJ’s and have an early night. Catch up soon!
