THE WEEKLY ROUNDUP #1

Hello, hello, hello. Happy Mother’s day to all you gorgeous momma’s out there!

So if you were here last week you may have read my last post where I announced I would be starting a new little series on the blog and today is the day we are kicking it off, my new weekly roundup. Basically going through my fave, standout moments of the week and sharing a much more candid look into my day to day life. So… lets do it!

The beginning of the week mainly involved work and going to the gym, nothing crazy but sometimes I can be a sucker for routine and actually quite enjoy the more ‘normal’ days. As some of you may already know alongside blogging full time, I also freelance at the Barbican Arts Centre (and I love it.) So Tuesday and Thursday saw me helping out front of house for events there. I also got to have a girly night with my gorgeous friend Yasmin on Monday, which involved a picnic of all our favourite picky foods and several episodes of Sex and The City. I don’t know about you but for me these nights are my absolute favourites, where I can just chill and chat, no make up and comfy clothes…winning!

With the week days all rolling into one, along side the Barbican and Sex and The City, I did manage to go to the gym and do my usual classes – Boxing, Spin and Bootcamp, shout out to the team at Pure Gym Finsbury Park! I also did a few cool Instagram projects which was really great. I love working with brands I’m passionate about so any time I get to collaborate on some cool content it puts a great big smile on my face. If you’re not following me already, please do come say hello – @littlemisswinney I post most days and it’s the best place to keep up with my day to day goings on. So with all the standard stuff aside, this week was all about WOMEN. International Women’s Day was on the 8th of March and of course today is Mother’s Day, lovely.

The pictures for this post are all from this weekend, a weekend I spent with Momma Winney.

Mum came up to London on Friday night and went home earlier today. I love whenever she comes to visit and because it was Mother’s Day I wanted to make sure I had a lovely weekend planned because she deserves it, so much! So, first things first, on the Friday night we headed to dinner and had a huge Italian meal at Prezzo. We are both suckers for their bread board and pasta dishes so it’s very much a creature comfort for us both and a place that was perfect for a quick meal after mums long drive from Grimsby.

After a good sleep, we woke up on Saturday with a full itinerary ahead. First off we had croissants from the local bakery at the end of my road and then onto the train to Kew Gardens.

Mum had wanted to go to Kew for ages so I thought it was the perfect treat and it did not disappoint! It was also the final day of the Orchid festival so we wondered around…. a lot and walked for hours around the huge gardens. It really was beautiful and I couldn’t recommend it more.

A personal highlight of the gardens for me was the tree-top walk, although being scared of heights mum wasn’t as much of a fan as I was but it really was a cool view of the gardens from above. After Kew we headed back into central London and had some drinks, Mum went for an Aperol Spitz and for me (I’m not drinking atm) a Latte. We then shared a pizza and some olives at Carluccios and watched the world go by whilst we had an hour of so to waste before heading to the new pop up Marble Arch Theatre to watch Five Guys Named Moe.

The show was so good and the space is amazing! It closes in a couple of weeks so if you can get a ticket, I highly recommend it, especially if you like jazz music. We ended our busy Saturday there, practically crawling into bed after the longest but most amazing day.

Today we slept in before heading to the new Evans and Blanc champagne bar at the House of Fraser on Oxford street. I have to say, this was not only a bloody brilliant meal – seriously, the food was amazing but the service was top notch! Like honestly, we had the best experience there and both mum and I can’t wait to go again. We had their special celbration ‘Mother’s Day’ menu which consisted of a main, a dessert and drinks but next time we will for sure be getting their afternoon tea (less than £20 pp and looks incredable.) Also for my fellow bloggers out there, you heard it here first – I can guarantee this will soon become the new ‘Instagram’ spot for influencers. With the interior giving ALL the millennial feels, baby pink, grey and copper with white marble floors. It really is the perfect little oasis within the busy shopping street.

And so… although the week was pretty standard, the weekend for sure made up for it. Big love to my Mum, she’s the best and I honestly couldn’t be without her. We had such a lovely time together and fit so much in to the two days she was here. All in all I’d say a good week all round! I hope you enjoyed my first ever weekly roundup, do let me know any suggestions you might have, what you want to hear more about etc. As I said, they’ll all be very candid and chatty but I for one have really enjoyed putting this post together and can’t wait to continue doing them.

With that said, I hope you have a fabulous week ahead and we’ll catch up again next Sunday!
