Pixi Beauty – Skintreats Review

A beauty review? I mean lets not lie, it’s been a while!

I adore beauty products, especially skincare but for some reason I just haven’t written about them on here…well that’s about to change! Today I wanted to write about a brand I started using around a year ago, I use both their skincare products as well as their makeup range, I’m talking of course about Pixi.

Now obviously, I adore their makeup (especially their eyeshadow palettes) but today we are diving in and getting to grips with the Pixi Skintreats. They have fallen seamlessly in with my usual skincare regime and although I really do love each and every product, there are a few ‘hero products’ I really couldn’t live without. So I thought it was high time I shared my findings with you and hopefully you’ll discover some new must-try products along the way!

So first up, cleanser. A few months back I was at a beauty conference when I heard the term ‘double cleansing’ for the first time. I mean, I barely have time to cleanse once, never mind twice. But I sat and I listened and actually, it totally made sense. When I saw Pixi had brought out a product specifically for this very reason I obvs jumped at the chance to try it out. The ‘Double Cleanse‘ product is for PM use and is amazing for getting all the makeup off your skin as well as the pollution we’ve picked up throughout the day. For me personally I can tell such a difference by using this each night, my skin feels truly clean and fresh and when I wake up in the morning it’s much more bouncy and soft. Having it in one pot as appose to two separate products is also a huge time saver! One side contains a solid cleansing oil and the other, a luxe cleansing cream.

Instructions for use –

• Use in the PM daily

• Step 1: Apply a coin size amount of solid cleansing oil onto dry skin. Massage into skin. Remove with moist facecloth or water

• Step 2: Double cleanse by following with the application of a coin
size amount of cleansing cream onto skin, massaging thoroughly then
removing with moist facecloth

Price: £24.00

Ok so, if you’ve already heard of Pixi it’s most likely to be because of this babe. The absolute standout star of the Pixi family and one that is raved about by everyone that’s used it. I’m talking about the Pixi ‘Glow Tonic.’ An exfoliating facial glow tonic that helps firm, tone and tighten the skin. The gycolic acid exfoliates and purifies the skin removing dead skin cells revealing a healthy glow. I love this and honestly would not feel complete without it… the love affair is serious guys! I couldn’t recommend it enough and if you do go onto buy just one thing from the collection, this is the one you should give a try.

Instructions for use –

• Use: Either in the AM and PM or when needed.

• Step 1: Cleanse your face

• Step 2: Saturate a cotton pad with the Glow Tonic and sweep across face, neck and décolletage (avoiding eye area).

• Step 3: Follow with a serum or moisturizer

Price: £32.00 (500ml)

If my previous paragraph didn’t emphasise my love for the Glow Tonic enough then just to reiterate, I thought I’d introduce you this next product… ‘Glow Peel Pads.’ Basically a more intense version of the glow tonic only this time in pad form. This product isn’t something I use daily, instead choosing to only use it once/twice per week but the results are amazing. I mean I guess the name pretty much gives it away but my skin really does glow after using. Also, it comes with 60 pads which last ages so they’re well worth the £24.00 price tag.

Instruction for use –

• Use: Daily in the PM

• Step 1: Apply to the face, neck, décolleté, and tops of hands and leave on for 2-3 minutes

• Rinse with cool water to neutralise peel (slight tingling after application is normal)

• If irritation occurs, rinse off immediately

• If irritation continues, consult your skincare professional

• We recommend using SPF in the daytime, especially when using a product with glycolic acid

Price: £24.00

Next up and probably the newest to my Pixi Skintreats collection is their current trending product ‘Rose Cavier Essence.’ An encapsulating moisture serum which melts into the skin adding that often much needed hydration. For me personally, hydration is so important! I don’t drink as much water as I should (I know, I’m trying to sort it out) and living in such a busy and polluted city like London, my skin needs as much hydration as it can get. Serum’s aren’t really something I’ve ever raved about. Admittedly when I first tried this I wasn’t expecting that much from it but hand on heart I have to admit that the difference I felt after using the product was huge! I wear a little in the AM and then lather it on before bed in the PM, this always leaves me waking up with fresh dewy skin and feeling hydrated to the max.

Instruction for use –

• Step 1: After cleansing and toning, press gently onto skin, neck and décolletage and let absorb.

Price: £26.00

The final Pixi product I’m going to chat about today is another newbie to my collection, the ‘Rose Flash Balm.’ This little beauty is a 3 in 1 product that does a multitude of wonderful things for the skin. The oil-free, quick absorbing formula instantly moisturises and
brightens the skin and is great as a revitalising mask as well as a primer to
prep skin for perfect makeup application. I’ve mainly been using it as a primer and it’s worked perfectly as a base for makeup. It’s kept my skin feeling light no matter how much makeup I go on to apply over the top, which for me is a huge thumbs up as I hate feeling weighed down by heavy makeup.

Instructions for use –

• Use AM or PM or as needed

• To use as a treatment primer, apply a thin layer to face and neck after cleansing

• Do not rub. Follow with
foundation if desired

• To use as a mask, apply a thick layer and leave on for 5 minutes 2-3 times a week.

Price: £26.00
