A Relaxing Night In With Happy Jackson

As the nights draw in and the temperatures go down, it's pretty clear that summer has well and truly ended.
Not to worry though, Autumn fills us with beautiful colours, starry nights and (my favourite) cable knit jumpers *hoorah.*
For me when the weather outside starts to become a little less friendly, there's nothing better than running myself a big, hot bubble bath.
Now I must admit and I realise this may seem a tad strange for some, but for me bubble baths are the norm. I've always been a bath girl. In the morning before work nothing gets me out of bed quicker than the thought of jumping into a cosy bubble bath, I just think it's such a great way to start the day. After the gym, mid afternoon - bubble bath and of course as we are talking about now in the evening, yes you guessed it - bubble bath. To me it's that little bit of luxury I enjoy most days, however wether you're a seasoned bather or not, there is always something pretty special about taking that extra half an hour, to soak, relax and drift away, forgetting all your troubles.

With that said and my love of bubbles shared, I wanted to introduce you to the latest bath soaks I've been using, Happy Jackson from H&A! Exclusive to Sainsburys they are £3 for a 500ml squirty bottle... £3!
There's eight different scents to choose from and of course in true Happy Jackson style, they each come with a cute and quirky name. I've just about managed to decide on my favourite four and believe me it was tough! My stand outs are - 'Soak It Up Girl' (berries & cherries), 'Wooh! Mini Holiday' (coconut cream), 'Happy Days!' (apple crush) and 'Big Love' (passionfruit & lime.)

After switching between the four for the last few weeks I can tell you first hand that for £3 per bottle, you're winning! Each one is rich and fragrant, a bath creme that really does leave your skin feeling silky smooth and smelling pretty damn good too.
So go, head to your local Sainsbury's or click onto the store's website and stock up... you totally deserve it! If you're a daily bather like me or if you save your bubbles for a pamper night at home, whatever the reason - do you skin a favour and get happy with Happy Jackson!

A good nights sleep with Leesa

Sleep - a necessity we all need in order to survive.
Be it a nap, siesta or snooze - sleep and the quality of the sleep we get can have a huge impact on how we live our lives.
For me sleep = creativity. As someone who works from home most of the time I find the majority of my creative ideas come to me at that moment in between switching off and falling to sleep. When my phone has been turned over and my laptop turned off, my mind is free to wonder.

For many years my sleep suffered, as did my creativity and general well being. I was constantly tired and lethargic and it seemed no matter how much sleep I got, be it 8 hours, 10 hours, whatever, I still somehow never felt rested. After reading into it a bit more, I soon discovered the solution was clear - quality over quantity. It wasn't about getting more hours, it was about the hours I was getting being good, sound, solid sleep. Instead it was jolted, broken up with tosses and turns and never being able to get comfy. You see like any 20 something moving to a new city, when I moved to London I found a flat share, moved in and kept the included furniture - wardrobe, desk, bed and subsequently the mattress too. It wasn't until I changed my mattress that I finally found the good nights sleep I'd been looking for! After researching a variety of mattresses and reading literally hundreds of reviews and blogs, I decided on Leesa and now (thankfully) I wake up each morning feeling energised and ready to take on the day!
Why Leesa? Well, as I said I did a whole heap of research and really did my homework before making a decision. For me Leesa caught my attention for a number of reasons. Namely, the delivery process, the social impact programme and of course the reported high quality mattress.
Leesa and the Leesa company ethos are truly innovative. The entire process from ordering to delivery are completely fuss free. Firstly, it literally took less than 2 minutes to order and secondly, it is delivered within days (hoorah) and delivered straight to your door so no handy man with a van required (double hoorah.) I felt like a fully fledged adult getting so excited about the prospect of a new mattress and luckily the excitement paid off, as I'm totally smitten! Although I should point out that if I wasn't, Leesa gives you a '100-night risk-free trial' so if you are not completely happy with it, they will organise for the mattress to be collected and donated to a charitable organisation, whilst giving you a full refund. When my mattress arrived, I thought something had gone wrong, a double mattress can not be that small? It arrived in a neat cardboard box an upon opening I realised the mattress had been rolled into a compact cylinder making it SO much easier to move, especially up the stairs. When I unrolled the mattress began to immediately expand, bravo on some seriously clever vacuum-packing skills Leesa... you almost had me fooled!

When I finally got to try my new mattress out for the first time I cried a sigh of relief, I was so happy. It actually worked, but don't just take my word for it, turns out there's some full on science behind it all too!
  • The 5cm top layer allows air-flow for a cooler night’s sleep. The Avena® foam also provides enough bounce for freedom of movement.
  • The 5cm memory foam layer provides the body contouring and pressure relief you’ve come to expect from memory foam. This is what stops my back from being even the slightest bit achy.
  • The 15cm dense core support foam adds strength, durability and structure to support sleepers of all sizes, without feeling too firm on top.
Now on to the nitty gritty - how does it actual feel to me...
simply put, heavenly. I realise this seems somewhat over-enthusiastic but honestly, I've been sleeping on my new Leesa mattress for just over 3 months now and it really has had such an impact, both on my general day to day life and massively on my creativity. For me, my day usually starts with answering emails in bed, drafting up a blog post or editing pictures. I feel happy to wake up that bit earlier to have the luxury to work in bed that little longer.

The final thing I feel I must mention as this again makes me feel so passionate about Leesa as a brand, is their social impact programme. Leesa donates one mattress for every ten sold and also plants a tree for every mattress sold on top of that. So every time you buy a mattress you are helping towards charitable cause and the environment, bravo Leesa, bravo!
Without a shadow of a doubt Leesa has transformed the way I sleep and in turn has transformed the way I work. It's brand I know I will stay loyal too. The product is perfect and at a really great price point for the quality. From the website to the customer service and follow up, each and every step was simple and professional. Leesa has got it right start to finish.

If you'd like to order a Leesa mattress I have an exclusive discount code to receive £50 off your purchase. Just follow this URL link - www.leesa.co.uk/littlemisswinney and the discount will be applied at the checkout. Happy Sleeping!

Cypriot Sunsets

Ahhhhhhh... a few days a go I landed back in London from the most relaxing holiday with my two girl friends Alice and Izzy T.
Now just a little warning before I go on, this isn't going to be like the majority of my travel posts, no guide, no where to go/ what to eat. To be honest we spent most of our time lazing on the beach and swimming in the sea (bliss.) Instead it's going to be a post that I've wanted/hoped to write for a long time.

As the lyrics from the famous Nina Simone song say 'It's a new dawn, it's a new day, it's a new life and i'm feeling good.' That is exactly what I feel like! I've finally been able to let go of some serious emotional baggage I'd been holding onto and I feel like a whole new person or perhaps more accurately, the old me that I haven't been in touch with for quite some time.

We decided on sunny Paphos, a city on the southwest coast of the Mediterranean island and although it may not have fed my mind culturally it definitely fed my heart spiritually (yes I know that sounds pretentious as hell but hear me out...)
The five days we spent there we spent relaxing, surrounded by sun, sea and sand and witnessing the most beautiful sunsets I have ever seen. The food was exquisite and I proudly overdosed on fresh fish, greek salad and heaps of grilled halloumi.
I used my days to read, to write, I even swam out to a docked boat at one point, climbed on board and meditated *namasteand it's exactly what I needed - to relax, take a breath and take a moment.

It was so nice to put the laptop away, turn the email notifications off and just allow myself to drift off. On the second day, I took my notebook along to the beach with me and out poured a tonne of creative ideas for the blog, it was almost as if I just needed to step away for a second to give my mind the space it needed to breath. It was so cathartic, writing my thoughts and ideas down whilst listening to the waves flow in and out, add a cheeky cocktail and I was honestly IN HEAVEN.

I'm happy to report that I've returned with a clear head and a happy heart and ready to tackle the last few months of 2016 head on! Although I love nothing more than discovering different cultures and exploring the architecture and history of a country, sometimes a five day chill can do wonders for you both mentally and physically.

So go forth my beauties, put the wanderlust aside for just a second and perhaps make your next trip or staycation somewhere meant for pure relaxation.
