The Lipstick Diaries - Nyx Cosmetics Butter Lipstick

Nyx Cosmetics is one of those brands that just keeps on giving!
I'm always surprised by the high quality of the products considering the affordable prices they are sold at.

My latest purchase was one of their Butter Lipsticks. With 22 shades to choose from, I went for 'Pops Explosif.'
I'd describe it as a hybrid, a cross between a balm and a lipstick. It has the pigment of a lippy but the texture of a balm, giving your lips some serious hydration. It glides on super smooth and lasts for a good couple of hours before you need to re-apply.

For me this combination lipstick is perfect. In the colder months my lips tend to get dry and so I'm constantly covering then with lip balm to keep them moisturised, with the lip butter I can do that whilst still supporting a strong colour, without which I'd feel naked!

At £5.50 I think I'll be bagging all 22 shades before to long!

Stupefy, wingardium leviosa.....I could go on forever.
Basically say hey to my new Harry Potter glasses, I'm obsessed!
I received this rather nifty pair of specs a few weeks ago from the lovely team at Pretavoir.com and they haven't left my face. Being a huge fan of 'The Chosen One' and having read all the books and watched all the films countless times, I now feel I can give a nod to the magical world without going full on robes and wand (although secretly....I totes want too.)
So what'd ya think?

As a HUGE Crabtree & Evelyn fan I was very excited to try out the Evelyn Rose eau de parfum. A heart of uniquely scented Evelyn Rose petals and peach nectar, surrounded by an elegant jasmine and violet accord with accents of bergamot and sensuous amber. With an ultra-feminine rose fragrance it's perfect to wear both day and night.

Top Notes:
Leafy greens, peach, bergamot.
Heart Notes:
Evelyn rose, turkish rose, jasmine, violet, magnolia
Base Notes:
Amber, cedar-wood, guaiacwood, white musk, vanilla.

The smell is refreshing and glamourous and I can't help but feel graceful and sophisticated whenever I wear it. It's a gentle scent that instantly transports you to a rose garden. The perfume lasts a good amount of time (around 4-5 hours) before needing to re-apply and since wearing it I've had quite a few compliments, which is always a bonus! Also a huge selling point is that for every purchase made from the Evelyn Rose collection, Crabtree & Evelyn donate £1 to Breast Cancer Care.

So if you're looking for a sweet yet modern perfume, I'd give this one a try and if the scent itself isn't enough to sway you then just look at the packaging....simply stunning!

Bonfire night...check ✔
Sooooo it's Christmas now right?

Born a winter baby (December 30th FYI) Christmas has always been 'my thing' and it's something I just love the build up to. The excitement, the shopping, the copious amounts of mulled wine! Yes the weeks leading up to the big day have me skipping along the pavements and slowly transforming into a Christmas fairy. But before the festive jumpers come out I tend to start leaning toward my favourite festive hues, red, black and white.

I love nothing more than catching up with the girls for a quick drink and a bite to eat and this outfit was the perfect look for just that. The Religion jacket is warm enough to be a cover up in this chilly weather pairing it with the faux fur scarf for a bit of extra cosiness and adding the chloe clutch to give a pop of red to a mainly monochrome ensemble.

Batiste - Dry Shampoo

Photography by - Rebecca Chivers
Hello my lovelies!
So I wanted to share some of my favourite beauty products with you, from my everyday essentials to my once in a while luxury treats. I thought I'd start with one of my absolute go-too, must have, never without favourites...Batiste dry shampoo!

I've been using Batiste for years. Having danced pretty much every day after school growing up, I didn't want to be washing my hair after every rehearsal so it became a hand bag essential early on and has followed me ever since.
From a quick spruce-up post gym or to add a little volume before a night on the town, its the perfect hair product for a quick fix. I take it on all of my photo shoots just in case my hair starts looking a bit greasy and limp. A quick spray into the roots not only give your hair a boost but also makes it smell seriously gorgeous!

I'm sure many of you have tried it before but if you haven't, do!
It will soon become something you can't live without.

So as many of you will have noticed, I am a wearer of spectacles.
No, I don't choose to wear them as a fashion accessory, they actually give me the power of sight!

I've been a wearer of glasses since the age of ten. I went through the usual playground taunts of "four-eyes" and "spec-face" and was always referenced as "the girl in the glasses." Yet it was never something I felt conscious about. Both my Mum and Dad wore glasses (my brother being the only one to be gifted with 20/20 vision) and they always taught me to be confident and embrace my glasses as a part of my personality and style.

When Superdrug announced they were launching their own glasses range, I didn't know what to expect. Superdrug was where I went to get my beauty essentials and Christmas gift-sets, not my glasses? So I went along to their press preview, I instantly fell in love with the entire collection...but one pair stood out. These round framed, pink dipped frames got me oh so excited! The retail price is £45 which as someone who usually spends £150+ on glasses, I was stunned. Gone are the days of having to spend hundreds of pounds on designer frames, Superdrug have opened my eyes and zoomed in on how fabulous affordable specs can be!
