OOTD: English Rose

I just can't, I just can't, I just can't control my feet!
Last week (before the heavens opened and the rain came pouring down) I had a lovely little photo shoot with photographer - Alishia Love.
We met at her beautiful river-side apartment in west London where we had a quick cuppa and a catch up before heading out to shoot my latest outfit of the day post.
I decided to dress in something 'quintessentially british.' This is because a few days prior, a lovely elderly gentleman came up to me whilst sitting in my local park and commented on how pale my skin was and how I was a classic 'English rose.' He said to cherish my complexion and then just carried on walking.
So with that in mind I once again donned my ever-present red lip, popped on some pearls and off we went!
...I carried a watermelon.

Date Night: Reds True BBQ & The Golden Bee Rooftop Cinema

So you find yourself in the world of singledom once again, the answer....date nights with your girl friends of course!
You know those moments where you're at a restaurant or at an amazing bar and you look around and think, wow - this would make the most perfect date location!
Well why the hell should you miss out just because you're single?
The other day my friend Yasmin and I went for dinner at Red's True BBQ in Shoreditch and then to the rooftop cinema across the road at The Golden Bee. We had the best night and so decided to make it a regular outing.
So stay tuned for some of my 'Date-night' posts, perfect for singles and couples alike!
We actually hadn't planned to go to Red's True BBQ, but as we were early and a little bit peckish we saw the restaurant and headed in.
Whilst in there we realised it had only just opened in the area, we also realised you had to be more than peckish! The menu was heavy, but we were ready for the challenge.
We started off with cocktails, I went for 'Serving Thyme' - A vibrant pink combination of Absolut Vodka, The Bitter Truth Elderflower Liquor, Ilegal Mezcal Reposado, raspberries, fresh thyme and lime.
Then comes the food!
For sides we went for sweet potato fries and mac and cheese.
For the main event Yasmin had the PITMaster S'wich - Black Angus brisket, cheese and jalapeño smoked sausage, Red's pulled pork with tangy slaw, South Carolina BBQ sauce, sliced fresh jalapeño, and a fried pickle in a brioche bun.
And for me the Sleepy James - Southern fired chicken breast in waffles, peppered bacon, shredded lettuce, burger cheese, slaw and ranch dressing.
The food was epic! I won't lie I was defeated and couldn't quite finish, but I gave it my best shot!
So after the mammoth feast we were both unable to move - full on food coma!
We had a little rest and then headed to the Golden Bee where we had booked into to the rooftop cinema to watch bridesmaids!
When we got there, we headed to our two seater sofa to pop down our things and then swiftly to the bar - where it just so happened to be happy hour! Bring on the cocktails!
We went for Pornstar and Lychee Martinis.
As the film was about to start, we were handed blankets and popcorn (unlimited top-up's!)
The film of course was hilarious and the setting just perfect!
The rooftop events sell out quiet quickly so you do need to book in advance, but it's such a good night out! Obviously if the weather is gloomy its a no-go but on those odd summer nights its the perfect date night for girl-friends/ boyfriends/ best friends/everyone!

Maison Pou - Gourmet Pâtisserie

Simply put, I love cake!
Always have, always will and so whenever I go away on my holidays or on my travels, I'm always keen to give my sweet tooth a treat.
Whilst in Paris my brother introduced me to Maison pou, a gourmet pâtisserie just a stones throw away from his apartment. Situated on Avenue des Ternes, Masion Pou is a celebrated pâtisserie established in 1830 receiving acolades from locals and tourists alike and from the moment I looked in the window and saw what can only be described as edible works of art, I can understand why.

Along with the cakes they also have an amazing selection of savories. Even though I love sweet, I'm also a sucker for savory...basically I just love food. From quiche to pie, salad to pasta they pretty much have everything your taste-buds could want for.

So if you're a foodie like me this is definitely a place to pin on your trip to Paris!

Shady Lady

Sunglasses - 'The Super Accessory.'
Not only do they tend to look fabulous but they also protect your eyes, in fact they are one of the few  accessories that both protect and project.
They protect your eyes from damaging sunlight and project your own personal style in the process.
I adore a good pair of shades and as I'm short sighted I have a mix on prescription and non-prescription sunnies that I can pick from.

My take on the 'Jackie O' style.
I fell in love with these Prada beauties pretty much the instant I set eyes on them!
The bold black frame has a timeless and classic look with the spiraled arms adding a pop of modern day edge.

Sun RX 05

When Specsavers teamed up with Red or Dead I was ecstatic! Not only could I have amazing sunglasses, but I could see in them without wearing contact lenses!
As a hay fever sufferer there is nothing worse than attempting to stick contacts into your eyes whilst they are itchy, watering and red, so perscirption sunnies are somewhat of a God send.
These frames are so cool, the gradient of colour and the cat-eye shape makes me feel holiday ready the moment I put them on.....cocktail please!

Céline certainly seems to be the brand of the moment at the minute and whilst they keep creating accessories that absolutely everyone wants, I think they'll be staying at that top spot for quite some time!  Reinventing classic styles with a modern twist and making pieces that are current yet timeless make all the Céline eyewear collection investment pieces that will last a lifetime. These 'Audrey' oversized cat-eye sunglasses which are everywhere at the minute, spotted on Olivia Palermo, Kirsten Dunst, Miranda Kerr were inspired by the iconic Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's. As a massive fan of both the actress and the film I just couldn't wait to get my hands on a pair!
Emi STyle #ERJEY03011

Now this pair of Roxy sunglasses I've had for a couple of years now and I can honestly say they are just amazing! So wearable, they literally go with everything. They are my go-to pair that I can just grab and know they'll match whatever I'm wearing.
Roxy being know as a 'surfer' brand keep that trend going right through into their eyewear collections with cool classics and retro styles. This pair are a gorgeous tortoise-shell colour and I know I'll be wearing them forever!

OOTD: I Left My Heart In Paris

Where better to put your glad rags on than Paris? I love dressing up and so our first night in the capital was no exception. En route to see the cabaret Lido De Paris, we stopped mid way to marvel over the beauty of the Arc de Triomphe (and take a few cheeky snaps!)

Bring on the Bubbles!

So those of you who follow me on Instagram may have noticed (been bombarded with pictures of) my recent trip to Paris. Now bare with me, although only there for 4 days, we packed crazy amounts in! So while I'm busily editing pictures and typing up my full paris trip blog, I thought in the mean-time I'd take the chance to zone in on a few of my favourite bits during the trip.
For me the pre-holiday is as important as the holiday itself! After the stress of packing and searching for your passport is over, it's time to sit back, relax and get in the holiday spirit! Traveling to Paris via the Eurostar meant setting off from St Pancras, setting off from St Pancras meant one thing....Searcys Champagne Bar!
After feasting on eggs royale for breakfast we (my mum and I) were ready for some bubbles. After browsing the menu we decided to go for two glasses of Buck's Fizz, the perfect breakfast tipple! Of course besides the champagne the most exciting part of the Searcys experience is the famous 'press for champagne' button situated in each booth. You press it and as if by magic out comes a waiter to take your order.
I absolutely adore champagne and adding a little orange juice makes it completely acceptable to be drinking it in the AM, If it were up to me that's how I'd start every morning! Having gotten the taste for it we went ahead and ordered another two glasses before hurrying along to check in.
So if you ever find yourself at St Pancras International, head on upstairs, press the button and bring on the bubbles!
