MAC Attack

http://www.maccosmetics.co.uk/
So a few weeks ago I went a bit cray cray and spent a bomb on MAC products. I got all the makeup essentials and now after a few weeks of trying and testing I thought I'd share my experience.

Foundation- Studio fix fluid NW13
I found the foundation really easy to apply (I apply with a Clinique foundation brush). The texture was silky and left my skin feeling super smooth. Its gives great coverage, more than I'd usually go for as I'm not a massive makeup wearer but Its perfect for a night out or a day wear you need really durable makeup because it stays put.
Concealer- Mineralise NW20
Concealer is my life saver when it comes to hiding those unwanted dark circles, this one is great for covering blemishes and panda eyes! Great coverage without looking thick and cakey.
Compact- Select Sheer NW20
I love a powder compact. Perfect when in a rush but want to even out your skin tone, skip the foundation and just pop a bit of powder on instead. That said used with the foundation its great for fixing the makeup and if you are out dancing its the best way to tame a shiny forehead.
Eye shadow Duo- Vanilla/Cork
I always go for a dark brown and light cream for my eyes. The Cork shade in this duo set is perfect for me its really durable and matches my browns eyes perfectly. The Vanilla shade however, even though I like it I wish I'd gone for a brighter shade as I use it to highlight the corners of my eyes and under my brow and this shade is a bit to subtle to use as a highlighter.
 Lipstick- Ruby Woo (Matte)
I had heard so many people rave about the MAC Ruby Woo lipstick and so I thought I'd give it a go. Its a true red lipstick, perfect for a night out and if you're feeling daring in the day. Its really long lasting so no need to constantly be reapplying. It certainly lives up to the hype!
Lipstick- Patisserie (Lustre)
I really wanted a nude tone lipstick, I went for Patisserie. It's lovely and the lustre effect adds that a nice shine to the lips. Its a really nice shade that blends in with the natural lip tone adding a slight pop.
Lip Conditioner- Pour Les Levres
I've been using this lip conditioner for years now, It's so soothing and makes your lips look amazing if you're going for a more natural look and leaving the lipstick at home.

Warby Parker - The Concentric Collection

With the holiday season just around the corner, eyewear specialists Warby Parker are pleased to announce the launch of their new Concentric Collection. As a glasses wearer myself I'm a huge fan of Warby Parker and so I'm delighted to be working with them to share their latest campaign and share the story of how they benefit those in need.

Warby Parker was founded with a rebellious spirit and a lofty objective: to offer designer eyewear at a revolutionary price, while leading the way for socially conscious businesses.
Every idea starts with a problem. It was simple: glasses are too expensive! It turns out there was a simple explanation. The eyewear industry is dominated by a single company that has been able to keep prices artificially high while reaping huge profits from consumers who have no other options. And so Warby Parker was born to create an alternative. By circumventing traditional channels, designing glasses in-house, and engaging with customers directly, they were able to provide higher-quality, better-looking prescription eyewear at a fraction of the going price.

'Buying glasses should be easy and fun. It should leave you happy and good-looking, with money in your pocket.'
The Concentric Collection makes its appearance not a moment too soon, just about the time your heavy winter layers could use a little pick-me-up and I'm pleased to announce it launches today!
Named for its hallmark detail the Concentric Collection rewards a closer look, all about compliment and contrast with a bit of luxury and a subtle dash of  colour.
The Concentric Collection introduces three new styles, Benchley, Murphy and Everly alongside a new colour, Whistler Grey.

Everyone has the right to see.
Almost one billion people worldwide lack access to glasses, which means that 15% of the world’s population cannot effectively learn or work. To help address this problem, Warby Parker partners with non-profits like VisionSpring to ensure that for every pair of glasses sold, a pair is distributed to someone in need. There’s nothing complicated about it. Good eyewear, good outcome.

Pucker Up!

I love a red lipstick.
There is nothing more empowering, I swear! Having a bad day? Put on red lipstick! No time to get ready? No problem, throw your hair in a bun and put on red lipstick! Seriously, I'm not lying when I say there's something truly magic about it. I remember my friend once saying that lipstick equals instant glamour. And its true! No matter what mood you're in or how tired you are, a touch of red lippy has the ability to lift your spirits in seconds. Since the beginning of time lipstick has been symbol of both style and status and a true beauty icon that has been a constant in make-up bags all over the world.

When it comes to lipstick I've tried and tested just about all of them from high-street to high-end, you name it I've probably tried it. I'm pale, very pale and so when I want to add a splash of colour to my face, I reach for the red! Here are some of my favourites.
http://www.chanel.com/en_GB/
-Chanel-
-Rouge Allure-
(Shade - 99, Pirate)
£26.00
'The next generation of ROUGE ALLURE dresses lips with unmistakable attitude. A new formula with concentrated, ultra-thin pigments offers radically intense, long-wearing colour with full coverage and a satin finish. Leaves lips supple and protected with lasting comfort.'
I remember getting my first ever Chanel lipstick, It was a gift for my 21st birthday from my best friend Holly. I had always wanted one, something about it made me feel grown up and refined. To this day I still swear by it! The Rouge Allure collection is my favourite, with its velvety texture and a great range of shades, its one I'll wear for a life time.

http://www.dior.com/home/en_gb
-Dior-
-Diorific-
(Shade - 38, Diva)
£27.50

'Presenting the Dior spirit of extreme luxury, in saturated colour wrapped up in a precious case. Specially formulated for a perfect balance between hold and comfort, Diorific glides on with a rich texture and intense, long-lasting colour.'

Until a couple of years ago I had never actually owned any Dior lipstick. Now its by far my favourite! Again as a gift I was bought my first Diorific lipstick by my boyfriend. The shade he picked originally had been 39 - Lady, an absolute beauty (now sadly discontinued.) But from that lipstick I was well and truly hit by the Dior bug and went on to purchase a whole range! The lipstick itself glides on, it moistures the lips but isn't at all oily and stays put all day!
If you want to make an investment on a lipstick this is the one to go for!

http://www.maccosmetics.co.uk
-MAC-
(Shade - Ruby Woo)
£15.50

'Colour plus texture for the lips. Stands out on the runway. Simmers on the street! What made MAC famous.'
MAC has always been a firm favourite of mine and as far as a classic red lip can go, Ruby Woo is perfection. I started using MAC productions for performing in the theatre, simply because it stays put and no amount of aggressive stage lighting can make it budge! Now It's my go to lipstick for a night out on the tiles. You can dance to your hearts content without having to worry about running to the toilets every few minutes to reapply!

http://uk.rimmellondon.com/
-Rimmel London-
-Lasting Finish By Kate Moss-
(Shade - 01)
£5.49
'The 1st Lipstick collection created by Kate Moss High intensity colour for up to 8 hours. Formula infused with Black Diamonds, reflects light like never before. Captures all the flair, edge and timelessness of Kate’s unique look.'
So I have to admit, when this range first came out a few years ago it was pretty much everyone's Christmas/Birthday present from me. Yes the lipstick its self is great and its amazing value for money but for me it was the personal touch. My first name being Kate I thought it was brilliant that each lipstick was signed with my name! That aside, it really is a great everyday lipstick with a varied range of shades. If you're on a budget Rimmel is always the answer!

A Chic Nights Sleep

-The Sleep Shirt-
A sleepwear label started by Central Saint Martins graduate Alexandra Suhner Isenberg. Inspired by a 19th century chemise found at a vintage menswear stall in London's Spitalfield's market. The Sleep Shirt started with an oversized, unisex nightshirt, made from crisp blue and white Oxford striped cotton.
I had my first taste of sleeping in the 'Blue Oxford Stripe' Sleep Shirt last night.
Probably the most classic design of the collection, made out of 100-per-cent Japanese cotton.
I was certainly in for a treat!
The quality of the fabric felt amazing and the loose yet tailored fit made sleeping so comfortable yet still elegant and stylish.

-Long striped cotton Oxford nightshirt-

After the original design (above) proved to be an instant hit, Alexandra decided to take on a partner, Megan McEwan, and grow the business.
They added to the range with a selection of different designs, patterns and colours.

-Rebecca Bree Bonne Nuit Exclusive-
-Nightshirt and Eye mask Gift Set-

-Linen short sleep shirt-

-Oxford Blue Stripe-
-Eye Mask-

I have to admit I'm not a morning person, far from it! But the sleep I had wearing this beautiful Sleep Shirt was certainly a boost. I woke up bright eyed and bushy tailed ready for the day!
The Sleep Shirt really does makes sleeping better and much more stylish!
So don't just take my word for it, Go and try it out and have a chic nights sleep!
