Easter Bunny Hunny

Happy Easter
-2014-

Good Friday fish, Easter egg hunts and over indulging on too many chocolate eggs to mention! There're so many things to love about Easter. But one thing is for sure, the Easter Bunny has never looked so chic!

 -Did someone say Easter bonnet?-

Its hard to erase the memories of the Easter bonnet competitions from my childhood. Stood freezing in a field in the local village, wearing a giant hat full of just about everything you could possibly find to stick onto it, desperately hoping to win the 1st place prize of a giant Easter egg!
But gone are the days of paper mache and glitter!
With the likes of Philip Treacy, Jane Taylor and Maison Michel. The traditional Easter hat has taken on a new, more fabulous form.

Always leading the way in the fashion stakes, Her Majesty The Queen shows Easter Sunday style at its best, wearing an elegant light blue coat with matching hat. Following in her footsteps is the beautiful   Kate - Duchess of Cambridge, wearing a dove white Alexander McQueen coat along with a charcoal Jane Taylor hat.

Whatever Easter means to you whether it family, religion, chocolate, or just a 4 days off work.
 I hope you've had a cracking one!

-Palmeraie - Marrakech - Morocco - North Africa-

'The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.'

So last month I jetted off to Morocco with my best friend Craig. It was beautiful! From the food to the sun, the markets to the camel rides, it was a perfect holiday.

Surrounded by so much culture going to the Souks in the Marrakech Medina was by far my favorite part of the holiday! So many stalls and shops, the sales men shouting and leading you to look at their various treasures. I got myself some amazing bargains! My favorite buy, this pashmina (below).

London Marathon 2014

-It's time to talk-
Sports Luxe
-London Marathon 2014-

It was marathon madness in London today! Every year I'm inspired by the thousands of people that run for such amazing causes. So to pay a little homage to the runners I thought I'd do a fashion spin on it and talk about the sport luxe trend.

Marc by Marc Jacobs S/S 2014

Its the trend thats keeps on going and if anything is going to get me to exercise its knowing I've got an outfit thats 'fit' for the occasion.
We've seen it everywhere, on every runway on every up and coming fashionista.
Its official Lycra and Trainers are no longer just for the gym!

Tennis skirts and cricket jumpers tick the sports luxe box perfectly.

Shop shout out to the new Lululemon store in Covent Garden. The first Uk store landed just 3 weeks ago and has already proved a hit with the gym bunnies amongst us.

Lululemon UK Flagship 19-20 Long Acre, Covent Garden

Beautiful gym and specialist yoga gear all under one roof and not only is it all made from high-tech material especially for exercise but its also very stylish.

So if you are thinking about going for a run or taking a yoga class, go and get kitted out at Lululemon and maybe just maybe, next year join in with the marathon madness!

Jaeger Bomb

Jaeger
-Spring/Summer Collection 2014-

'Stepping stylishly into spring.'

Jaeger is one of my favourite fashion stores in London. Having only truly discovered it last year and quickly becoming addicted to it, yesterday I was invited to its loyalty event at the flagship store on Regents Street, to celebrate the start of the new 2014 spring/summer season.

Fresh prints, chic shades and beautiful silhouettes. The collection is choc-a-bloc with graphic florals, popping paisley and a nod to the forever favourable nautical trend. I found myself taking several items into the changing rooms including the beautiful turquoise dress (above). I fell in love right there and then!

Whilst walking around the beautiful four floor shopping emporium, I couldn't help but notice the stunning art work that hung all around the top floor in the 'Boutique' by Jaeger section. Gorgeous images ranging from the 1950's to present day. Even if you don't purchase anything,  just walking around the store gets your fashion taste buds tingling.

Cheeky as I am, I made the most out of all the freebies on offer (zoom in on the Pimms above)
throw in a Mac makeover, penhaligon's perfume samples and some very posh chocolates and my day was made!

So don't just take my word for it, get down to your nearest Jaeger store, the new season collection will certainly put a spring in your step and brighten up your summer.

Sunshine On The South Bank

Fun In The Sun
-with my good friend Izzy T-

Well it seems that spring has finally sprung in good old London and everywhere you turn you see flowers blooming and people sneezing! Today me and my friend Izzy decided to go on a walk to the beautiful south bank. We walked, we talked, we laughed and we ate some delicious food. All in all a day well spent me thinks.

One of my favourite things in London is the array of street entertainers, behind me in this picture (above) is Mr Bubble Man. Granted it was all kids watching his show but I couldn't help but get involved and ran up to burst some of his bubbles. I was very excited....as you can see :)

Jean Paul Gaultier - From The Sidewalk To The Catwalk

The Fashion World Of
Jean Paul Gaultier
-From the sidewalk to the catwalk-

'This exhibition is the study of pure creativity.'

'It embraces contemporary couture fashion as an art form.'

'It revises individuality and youthfulness.'

Opening to the public on Wednesday, 9th April - Jean Paul Gaultier's fashion rampage continues its world wide tour, this time stopping off at London's Barbican Centre. Having been lucky enough to get a sneak preview and to be at the press launch and private view.....(no sadly not as an invited guest but as the hired help!) I got to listen in and look on as the fashion elite paraded through the Barbican art gallery to take in over four decades of JPG's 'witty and boundary pushing' designs.

At the press launch Jean Paul spoke passionately about his 'special relationship' with London saying  all his memories of visiting were of having fun, gaining inspiration and always feeling the unique energy that can only be found on the streets of London. He went on to express that parts of the exhibition where to pay homage to his love of the look and spirt of the British fashion scene.

He reminisced about one of his first trips to London in the 1970's, seeing the 'Rocky Horror Show' live on stage and loving it! He said only in London would you find people with such a sense of fun, and that even now you can still see a bit of 'Rocky Horror' in his designs.

The exhibition which is on tour going to eight different venues around the world has had some very special additions made just for the London showing. JPG said he was very inspired by the Punk movement in London in 1973 and so a mohawk measuring one meter in height was added to the show, as well as some of his most recent British muses such as the late Amy Winehouse (pictured above.)

Making this exhibition even more unique and bringing it right up to date are some very special mannequins. Wanting a cinematographic experience Jean Paul and curator of the exhibition Thierry Maxime decided to project faces onto each of them. When asked why, Jean Paul simply said, 'it's peoples faces that inspire me.'

So as I said earlier, even though I would have loved to be one of the many fashion folk that attended the V.I.P launch alas, I was not. There's me, at the back (with the specs) working the event, however I got just as much inside scoop as the rest of the world wide press! I may be an outsider, but I always manage to find a way in.

Making his Royal entrance to the launch party held in the Barbicans Stunning Conservatory, Jean Paul Gaultier had a very special plus one,  Her Majesty the Queen! .....Or what was it an extremely good look a like?! For his outfit he decided to pay homage to Ms Jolie (below). While guests enjoyed countless glasses of champagne, entertainment by Rufus Wainwright and of course the exhibition itself the models and promotional artists handed out gift-bags all with one of JPGs' signature scents inside.

After seeing the exhibition myself I can guarantee that if you're in to your fashion or simply enjoy a good art gallery trip, this one is not to be missed! It even has the iconic body corset worn by Madonna in her 1990 'Blond Ambition' World tour!! With over 190 haute couture and ready to wear garments created between the 1970's and now, there is plenty to see. So go on pay a visit :)
